Noah has the cure for a “streaky” and misaligned indicia.
Occasionally you will notice that the indicia printed by your postage machine are not as clear as you would like. In some cases the indicia appear “streaky” with areas that aren’t printing along the length of the indicia. This indicates that the print head needs to be cleaned. In other cases it appears as though the upper half of the indicia prints before or after the bottom half, giving an “offset” appearance.In most cases for Hasler mail machines there is no need for a service call, no need to remove or replace the ink cartridge heads. You can fix this yourself by following the directions below.
WJ60, WJ65, WJ90, WJ95, WJ110
Enter “User” Mode
Press the Menu button
Press #2 (Cartridge is #2 on screen)
Press OK
To clean the heads
Press “Clean Heads”
To re align the heads
Press “Test Print”
Press Start and run a blank envelope through the machine
Select the straightest line as it appears on the envelope
Enter that number on the machine
Press Escape twice to get back out of the menu.
WJ135, WJ150
To clean the heads
Enter “User” Mode
Press “next”
Press “clean”
To re align the heads
Enter “User” Mode
Press “next”
Press 2 “Printing Inker Service”
Press “print”
A meter tape will run
Select the number with the straightest line as it appears on the tape
Enter that number on the machine
Press “OK”
Press Escape twice to get back out of the menu.
WJ180, WJ185, WJ215, WJ220, WJ250
To clean the heads
Enter “User” Mode
Press “Menu”
Press “Clean”
To re align the heads
Enter “Supervisor” mode
Press “Menu”
Press 5 “Inker Servicing”
Press “print”
A meter tape will run
Select the number with the straightest line as it appears on the tape
Enter that number on the machine
Press “OK”
Press Escape twice to get back out of the menu.
