2007, What a Year!

 

2007 started off with high anxiety over the then proposed Shape Based Pricing rate change from the USPS.  We were in the thick of it, attending dozens of informational seminars to prepare our staff to inform you of the changes.  We put on 2 open houses and conducted 10 seminars to over 260 people from 180 local businesses.  In addition I spoke at the National Postal Forum in Washington DC, Mailcom (East and West), MSMA and the NACUMS National conference on the topic.  We received tremendous positive feedback from our efforts, in response “it was our pleasure; we view this as part of our job to keep you informed of changes and to help you in a consultative way to get the most from your mailing efforts.”

 

2008 has a couple major changes in store for all users of discounted mail; the revised Move Update standard takes effect on November 23 and the implementation mandate of the IMB (Intelligent Mail Barcode) on January 1, 2009.  Please review the related articles in this newsletter on these important topics. 

 

San Diego Postal remains committed to providing you with the information you need to know to get the very best value from mail.   The PCC‘s “Direct Mail Marketing Seminar Series” will be held here at San Diego Postal. 

 

All of our Sales Representatives and many of our Service Technicians go through MQC training to earn the coveted USPS “Mail Quality Control Specialist” certification.   As in years past, we are opening up this training to you and your staff at no charge.  It will take place in the spring; stay tuned to this column for more information on this as we get closer.

 

Welcome Neopost!  Effective February 1, San Diego Postal will be the exclusive Sales and Service center for all Neopost and Hasler products in San Diego and Imperial Counties.  We welcome the Neopost Branch Personnel that have joined us and we look forward to providing a high level of Service to all existing Neopost customers. 

 

-Gordon Glazer is the President and Founder of San Diego Postal and Shipping Equipment, Inc., - celebrating their 22nd Anniversary.  Mr. Glazer is a nationally recognized Expert in Document Handling, Addressing, Mailroom Design and Mail Processing Systems. He is currently only one of a handful of Vendors to earn the CMDSM certification and is also MQC and CMDSS certified. He is currently the VP of Education for the local MSMA chapter, and is active on the National Education committee for MSMA and is in charge of the Redevelopment of the CMDSM exam.  A graduate of San Diego State University with a Degree in Marketing.
